Sagardighi
Details

In the twelfth century AD, the King dug the dighi in the middle of the village to prevent waterlogging of the Padmanabh Prajas. A story is present in this region as it is said that the wife of Padmannav's wife, Rani Kamalabati, sacrificed her self after being asked to leave the water after digging this dighi. For this reason, the dighi is said to be the orange rani's dighi. Jatiya Poet Jasim Uddin Rani wrote a poem named Kamalabati Dighi, sitting on the banks of it. That poem is included in his book Suthani Kavya. This dighi is the second largest in Bangladesh. Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Sirajul Hossain Khan, then re-opened the dighi in 1986. The dighi is now spread over 66.00 acres of land. Among them, the water borders have 40.00 acres and the four sides have 26.00 acres. It is interesting to note that the four parks of Dinajpur will be attractive if the tourism park is built on the likelihood of Ram Sagar.
